What does it mean to be a member?
The difference between "Attenders" and "Members" can be summed up in one word: Commitment.
At Northpointe, we recognize the need for a formal membership. We ask you to commit to membership for 4 reasons:
What is expected of me as a member?
At Northpointe, we never ask our members to do more than the Bible clearly teaches. We only expect our members to do what the Bible expects every Christian to do. These responsibilities are spelled out in the Northpointe Membership Covenant.
The Northpointe Tabernacle
Membership Covenant
1. I will protect the unity of my church.
"Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be like-minded one toward another according to Jesus Christ." Romans 15:5
"Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart." I Peter 1:22
"Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying..." Ephesians 4:29
"Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch over your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you." Hebrews 13:17
2. I will share the responsibility of my church
"We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers." 1 Thessalonians 1:2
"And the Lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled." Luke 14:23
"So receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God." Romans 15:7
